Our CSV Importer is only available on the Team and Pro plans
If you have a large team, manually creating and entering each team member's business card information into businesscards.io can be a time-consuming task. Fortunately, our CSV business card importer can make the process much faster and easier. Here's how to use it:
1 - Primary Image | The primary image is the image shown on your cards top section and can be a portrait of the card owner, a logo or any other graphic that represents your brand. |
2- Secondary Image | The secondary image will be shown on the bottom right of the Primary image and can be used to show a company logo, symbol or even a portrait of the card owner. |
3- CSV File | The CSV file upload field is where you would upload the CSV that contains all the cards you would like to import. Download our template |
4- Social Profiles | The social profile section allows you to add social media icons and links to your card. Please be sure to add links or usernames as indicated on the fields. |
5- Links | The links section will add buttons to your card. You can use this section to link to your website or any other website. |
6- Primary Color | The primary color is the main color used on your card. It will be used for your card buttons and other accents. |
7- Wallet Pass Settings | Pro users can select to change the wallet pass background and text color to match their brand colors. Other users can select to match the wallet pass background with their primary color or keep it white. |
8- Pass Logo | Pass logo is only available to pro users and allows you to use your company logo on your wallet pass |
9- Contact Settings | The contact settings on the card allow you to enable or disable showing buttons to allow others to add your card to their address book and to send you their contact information. |
10- Other Settings | In this section you can hid our logo from the bottom of your business card. |
Set your preferences Before uploading your CSV file
These include your main image, secondary image, primary color for buttons and background, wallet pass color, and contact settings. This will ensure that your imported business cards look consistent and professional.
Download the CSV template, open it in your favorite spreadsheet editor and fill it out
The template includes all the necessary columns for your team's business card information, such as first name, last name, job title, email address, phone number, and more. Click here to download the template. Make sure to fill out all the required fields, and double-check for any typos or errors.
Required CSV Fields
Your CSV file must include the following required fields:
First Name: The first name of the cardholder. The import process will skip rows where the first name is blank.
Last Name: The last name of the cardholder.
Optional CSV Fields
While the following fields are optional, providing them enriches the digital business card data:
Prefix: A title or prefix for the cardholder's name (e.g., Dr., Mr., Ms.).
Suffix: A suffix for the cardholder's name (e.g., Jr., Sr., Ph.D.).
Pronouns: The preferred pronouns of the cardholder.
Headline: A professional headline (Your job title can be entered in the company title field).
Note: Any additional notes or information about the user. This is great for a short bio.
Company Name 1: The primary company or organization name associated with the cardholder.
Company Title 1: The cardholder's job title at the primary company.
Email Address 1: The primary email address.
Email Type 1: The type of the primary email address. The type is required for the email field to be imported. The possible options are work, personal and home.
Email Icon 1: An icon associated with the primary email address. (see available icons below)
Telephone Number 1: The primary telephone number.
Phone Type 1: The type of the primary phone (e.g., mobile, work).
Phone Icon 1: An icon associated with the primary phone number. (see available icons below)
Street Address Line 1: The primary street address.
Street Address Line 2: Additional address details (e.g., apartment, suite number).
City: The city of the address.
State/Region: The state or region of the address.
Zip Code: The postal code of the address.
Country: The country of the address.
User Email Address: An email address for sending an invite to manage the card. This will allow us to create a user for this person to give them access to the account and their newly created card.
If you would like to add additional emails for phones please copy all the phone or email columns and increment the number at the end.
Available Icons
In the icon name field make sure to use the exact name listed in the table below.
Once you've filled out the CSV template with your team's business card information, save it and upload it to our CSV business card importer.
The importer will automatically match the fields in the template CSV to the corresponding fields in businesscards.io, making the import process quick and easy. Once you submit the form you can preview the imported cards to make sure everything looks correct.
Review and invite your team After the import is complete, all the created business cards will be displayed to you for review.
You can check the cards for any errors or omissions before proceeding. Once you're satisfied with the cards, you can choose to invite your team members to join businesscards.io. Inviting them will give them access to their own business card and wallet pass, making it easy to share their contact information with others.
